We explored "Dumplings of the World" this summer.

Throughout July and August, we released regular videos to tell the stories of refugee and immigrant restaurant owners, each with a special focus on the recipe for a dumpling-like dish from their home country. Refugees and immigrants bring so much to our community, and our Summer Giving campaign focused on Dumplings of the World is our way of celebrating and honoring the rich cuisine of our New American neighbors. Click to follow us on Twitter and Instagram and like us on Facebook to see these amazing videos! The whole series is on our YouTube channel as well!

Telling these stories is just one part of our mission.

We are fundraising to support refugees and immigrants who need assistance with medical and mental health services, English language courses, job readiness training, and other culturally appropriate integration services. Despite hardships that have arisen, we have not stopped providing essential services to the most vulnerable populations in Ohio. Over the last few months, we have helped hundreds of families adapt and navigate an unprecedented situation in a new country and in a foreign language by providing translation of health educational materials, distributing groceries, organizing online English as a Second Language (ESL) and job readiness courses, and remote mental health services. Our case managers have linked clients to further external services, like social assistance and medical care.

Our fundraising goal is $15,000. This $15,000 will ensure that we are able to continue offering these valuable services. Refugee and immigrant families need our support as they grapple with financial instability, language barriers, and an uncertain future.
